Hello to all my hundreds of followers! As you may have noticed, this blog has been inactive for quite some time. I got really burnt out on blogging politics, culture, activism, and everything else and for a while just focused on my self and my personal writing.

Well, I’ve started blogging again, just not here. I’m not sure how many of you still are with me, remember me, or want me on my dash, but if you are still here and you do still want me you can follow me at my new blog -

www.patrickmorganlives.com

It will be similar to how this blog was in that it will cover world events, science, art, my own writing and my personal perspective on things but it will be more clean and contained. No giant gif sets or movie screen caps, just thinks that I find very insightful, relevant, or inspiring. I will also be doing things like weekly book recommendations and weekly Bechdel Test passing films.

Thank you all for sticking with me! I love you, you’re all beautiful, lovely creatures of light.

"Seriously? Where was all of this concern for the rights of an armed citizenry during COINTELPRO? Why were so many white people terrified of black people and their second amendment right to protect themselves from the police and the government in Oakland, and Detroit and Chicago? Believe me, when the government comes after you, like it came after the Black Panthers, the American Indian Movement, and labor unions, no amount of personal firepower will protect you. If this government is so evil that you can sit in the well of the Senate and call them tyrants and belittle Jim Brady then I question why you want to live here. I’ve lost a father and two other family members to gun violence. This whole “everybody is Rambo” is nonsense. The more guns around, the more likely you are to get shot."

The FBI's crime lab was at one point reputed to be one of the most elite, well-run labs in the world. Not so much anymore. For the last year, the agency has been embroiled in a huge and growing scandal in which its crime lab technicians have been found to have vastly overstated the value and conclusiveness of forensic evidence in criminal cases. The breadth and seriousness of the problem have only come to light in the last year or so, although there have been warning signs going back to the 1990s. The number of convictions affected is in the thousands, possibly the tens of thousands.
